The 'low frequencies' of the bass-guitar have been at the very heart of this 'bass-man's' core since he was an impressionable youth...
Mr. Peter Scance.... A versatile bassist and unique vocalist.... and guitar-man as well.... first picked up the 'four-string' when he was just a lad of 11-years..... He has YET to put it down... He's truly a man who has made a 'life in music'.
He spent his early years growing up and attending school in suburban Teaneck and Bogota, in the shadow of the Manhattan Skyline. He, as well as his brother David... (also a music 'lifer') were very much affected by the diverse musical spectrum of influences and sounds that evolved in the 60's and 70's... As the most influential, Peter cites The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Cream and Frank Zappa.
Peter continued his 'artistic' education at the 'mecca' of higher-learning for music; The Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusettes, where he studied with the likes of 'bass-legends' Jaco Pastorius, Stanley Clarke and Felix Pappalardi... and even performed with former 'Stone', Mick Taylor.
After college, Peter began to string together a career as versatile as the different types of music he plays.... Performing and recording with such notables as Meatloaf, Peter Yarrow (of Peter, Paul and Mary), The Scance Brothers Band (with 'bro' David), The Hellcats, Richie Ranno, Soul Finger, The Passions, Pop Show and even Japanese 'rock-emperor' Joe Yamanaka.
Mr. 'S' is also a talented composer and producer... and spends 'endless hours' in the studio, working on his own material, where he often performs on ALL the instruments as well as vocals... He has also produced many regional acts for several independent labels.
